No Peace is a protest song. It rises against the wicked system we, the generation Y, are living in nowadays. There is a constant changing and a constant need of something new. There are too many choices and nobody dares to choose. We want everything without spending time and effort to get it, we want to change the world, we want to leave a mark, to find our place, whatever it means (“trying to go on just to die special”). Having easy access to whatever we think we need makes it too fast to get what we want, so we got no patience for it, and then not enough satisfaction once we got it. In the song I’m screaming against this, believing I can live without all that by creating instead of finding myself, being happy with what I have. In this “teenage wasteland” I feel I could never find the peace I want, and I’m sure that a lot of people see it the way I do.
lyrics
I broke the bonds
You can’t hurt me now
Let me see if I’ll give up against you
A bone to pick
Watch me bleed and straighten up the soul
You tried to kill
But I’m sure I won’t give up against you
Chain up the world
Let me bring it up again
Picture myself in a boat
In a wood on a plastic carpet
With a cocaine sky
Imagine me alone in my hood
With my band, living just better
oh at least we’re trying
Building my world
with my words and my efforts
staying on the stage till the lights burn my neck bone
living my life with the music my passion
trying to go on just to die special
Please!
Can you help me though?
How can I know that I’m in Teenage Wasteland?
Ads everywhere but no peace
On amazon
I searched for long
I’m in Teenage Wasteland
That’s what I found there
I’m self-confident
I’ve nothing to hide
but you see how bad kids grow today
Oh, just don’t deny
So, come on don’t put the pressure
over my head
I’m just trying to find the place
the girl, the job, in this the thread
I broke the bonds
and I said
I’m sure I won’t give up against you give up against you
a bone to pick
Let me bring it up again
Please!
Can you help me though?
How can I know that I’m in Teenage Wasteland?
